PZ73H Cast Steel Knife Type Gate Valve – Compact, Single-Acting Knife Gate Valve with Sharp Edge for Abrasive Media

The Coliter® PZ73H Cast Steel Knife Type Gate Valve is a specialized industrial valve engineered for handling challenging media such as sewage, pulp, coal slurry, ash, slag, and other viscous or fibrous mixtures. Its defining feature is a sharp-edged, knife-shaped stainless steel gate that slices through solids and seals tightly against an elastomer or metal seat—preventing clogging and ensuring reliable shut-off even in high-solids applications. Constructed with a carbon steel (WCB) body and bonnet, and equipped with a stainless steel ram and stem, the valve offers excellent strength and corrosion resistance. It supports multiple sealing options: rubber (<80°C), PTFE (<180°C), or hard alloy (<425°C), making it adaptable to a wide range of temperatures and chemical environments. Rated at PN1.0 MPa (Class 150), the PZ73H complies with standards JB/T 8691-1998 (design), GB/T 2221 (face-to-face), GB/T 9113.1-2000 (flange), and GB/T 13927-92 (testing). With a compact wafer-style or flanged design and low operating torque, it is widely used in wastewater treatment, mining, power plants, paper mills, and chemical industries—delivering long service life, easy maintenance, and effective cutting-sealing performance in demanding slurry pipelines.

As the name implies, the knife gate valve has a knife shaped oblique notch at the bottom of the flat valve plate, which has the function of cutting off the medium, so that the valve can be closed without being blocked by the medium.

The valve has the advantages of light switch, reliable sealing, good elastic memory and long service life. It can be widely used in tap water, sewage, construction, petroleum, chemical industry, food, medicine, light textile, electric power, ships, metallurgy, energy systems and other pipelines as regulating and interlocking devices. There are plate type gate valve, knife type mud gate valve, knife type slag discharge gate valve, single clip type slag slurry gate valve and manual single clip type knife type gate valve.

Faq - Frequent questions

Coliter®’s cast steel gate valves, including the Z40H (non-rising stem) and Z41H (rising stem) models, are designed for high-pressure, high-temperature applications in oil & gas, power generation, chemical processing, and district heating systems. Constructed from WCB (A216) cast steel with a bolted bonnet design, these valves feature a metal-seated wedge disc for reliable shut-off under severe service conditions. Rated at PN16 to PN40 (1.6–4.0 MPa) and suitable for temperatures up to 425°C, they comply with API 600, GB/T 12234, and ASME B16.10 standards. Full-port flow, fire-safe design, and robust construction ensure long-term performance in critical industrial pipelines.
