JM644X Hydraulic & Pneumatic Angle Quick Opening Mud Discharge Valve – Double-Cavity Diaphragm Design with Reinforced Rubber for Long-Life, Clog-Free Operation

The Coliter® JM644X Hydraulic & Pneumatic Angle Quick Opening Mud Discharge Valve is a high-reliability sludge valve engineered for rapid and efficient removal of sediment, sludge, and debris from the bottom of sedimentation tanks, clarifiers, reservoirs, and wastewater basins. Mounted externally on the tank wall at an angle, it features an innovative double-cavity diaphragm transmission mechanism that replaces conventional piston systems—eliminating metal-to-metal friction, reducing wear, and significantly extending service life in abrasive environments. The diaphragm is constructed from nylon-reinforced rubber, offering superior elongation resistance and durability under repeated opening/closing cycles, while withstanding pressures up to 1.0 MPa without rupture. Actuation is achieved via a centralized control system using either an electric or manual 2-position 4-way directional valve, enabling quick, flexible, and easy operation. The valve body is made of cast iron, ductile iron, or carbon steel, with a ductile iron or bronze valve disc, stainless steel valve rod, hydraulic cylinder, and spring, and a wear-resistant nitrile rubber seal. Rated for PN0.6–PN1.0 (0.6–1.0 MPa), it operates within a temperature range of 0℃ to 80℃ and is suitable for water, sewage, and oil. Available in sizes from DN80 to DN400, with flanged connections per GB/T 17241.6 / JB/T 79.1, and tested to GB/T 13927 / API 598. Its full-port, straight-through flow path prevents clogging, ensuring high-capacity blowdown with minimal maintenance—making the JM644X ideal for municipal water treatment plants, industrial wastewater systems, and fire water tank cleaning.

The product adopts double cavity diaphragm transmission mechanism instead of piston mechanism, with no movement and wear and long service life. The folded composite material is used inside the diaphragm, which greatly improves the elongation of the diaphragm and prolongs the service life of the diaphragm. It is not easy to be broken during the opening and closing of the valve, and can withstand higher pressure. It adopts electric two position four-way directional valve or manual two position four-way or directional valve for centralized control, which is easy to operate and flexible to open and close. This valve is mainly installed outside the bottom wall of the sedimentation tank to remove sediment and dirt at the bottom of the tank.

Faq - Frequent questions

Coliter®’s sludge valves are specialized quick-opening valves designed for rapid discharge of sediment, sludge, and debris from water tanks, reservoirs, clarifiers, and pipeline low points. The series includes the JM744X quick-opening mud valve with hydraulic or manual operation, and the JM644X hydraulic & pneumatic angle-type sludge valve—both featuring a full-port, straight-through design to prevent clogging and ensure high-capacity blowdown. Constructed from ductile iron or cast steel with rubber-lined or hard-sealed discs, these valves operate at PN10–PN16 (1.0–1.6 MPa) and handle media temperatures up to 80°C. Ideal for municipal water treatment, industrial wastewater, and fire water tanks—enabling efficient maintenance, reduced downtime, and extended system cleanliness.
