QA Anti-Theft Ball Valve – Fully Enclosed Handle with Dedicated Tool Operation to Prevent Unauthorized Bypass in Water & Gas Systems

The Coliter® QA Anti-Theft Ball Valve is a specialized shut-off valve engineered to prevent illegal tampering, unauthorized access, or meter bypass in residential and commercial water and gas distribution networks. Featuring a fully enclosed protective cap or sealed handle housing, the valve can only be operated using a proprietary tool issued to authorized utility personnel—effectively deterring theft, fraud, and unsafe interventions. Constructed from high-quality forged brass (HPb59-1) with a robust stainless steel (304/316) stem and PTFE seats/seals, it delivers bubble-tight shut-off, corrosion resistance, and long-term reliability. Rated at PN16 (1.6 MPa) for water service and suitable for working pressures of 0.1–0.5 MPa in gas applications, it operates across a wide temperature range of -20°C to +180°C. Compatible with standard media including water, gas, oil, nitric acid, and acetic acid, the QA valve complies with GB/T 12224 (design), ISO 228 (threading), and GB/T 13927 (testing). Available in sizes from DN6 (1/4") to DN100 (4") with female/male BSP/NPT threads, it is commonly installed upstream or downstream of smart meters in apartment buildings, public utilities, and industrial metering stations. Its compact quarter-turn design ensures quick emergency shut-off while maintaining regulatory compliance and revenue protection for utility operators.
